So, I just went to your blog and saw them all. Don't be surprised because I've left lots of comments. :)

Yep, summer has come and gone. We're already drinking apple cider around here! As for the kid friendly fun: I get ideas from our library bulletin board; my husband came up with the games at our cook-out (some of them were inspired by the game show "Minute to Win It"

Thanks for stopping by with kind words.
Take care and God bless you, too.Staciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17869552571064566480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163323533274040183.post-85798326026327643692013-09-11T14:37:12.928-04:002013-09-11T14:37:12.928-04:00What a beautiful family you have! Thanks for stopping by!

My mom and I have discussed some of the issues we see that may have an effect on some women of color and their choices concerning the family. She shared with me her own experiences growing up and the things her mother did and didn't do that effected her own choices. (My brother and I went to public schools.)

Back in our college days, Arnikka, I never thought I'd be a stay at home, homeschooling mom and wife. Not that I was against it, but it just wasn't something that was modeled out for me and so I didn't consider it.

But, I am so glad that the Lord has ordered my steps. The benefits of being at home are far reaching, even into the next generation. I'm glad that you were able to experience that time with your children; it's so precious!

Take care and God bless you!!!!Staciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17869552571064566480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163323533274040183.post-47644731448344182702013-09-08T15:30:18.213-04:002013-09-08T15:30:18.213-04:00Wow, I love this! I'm actually in the process ...Wow, I love this! I'm actually in the process of finishing up a program to prepare for my teaching credential, so I'll soon be (Lord willing) in my chosen career, but I had the rare blessing(I'll explain next) to be a stay-at-home mom for my children from birth to age 5.

As a part of being a SAHM during those years, I became familiar with Christian homeschooling and the many moms who've embraced being Biblically focused domestic engineers of home and hearth. I loved it, BUT I did not see many of ..."us". There is no color in Christ, but again I did not see many of "us". It is refreshing to see you working with your children, being a homeschooling mom, and participating in a lifestyle that for a variety of reasons many women of color do not ever have the opportunity to have.

Having been a SAHM for the first five years of my children's lives, I firmly believe that it has made the difference in their social and emotional growth. Although I am now excited about a new phase in my life, I would not change those years for anything and consider them to be a blessing. I think it's wonderful that you're able to home school and have chosen to make the commitment of full time mothering to your family---it is definitely a ministry.
Arnikka Robinsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163323533274040183.post-89713209323903592572013-09-08T12:33:31.431-04:002013-09-08T12:33:31.431-04:00Thanks, Del!
