Ohhh, It's Too Hot!!

My goodness! I don't know about you all, my dear friends, but where I am, it is just downright, scorching hot. The temperatures are 103 degrees or higher--and that is in the shade. . .which of course puts the heat index at 115-120!! The normal high temps are usually around 88 degrees or so.

I'm struggling to go get the mail or the newspaper without coming back in the house just drenched. My poor kids aren't getting to spend that much needed time to run and play outside. And even my little furry friends (our dogs) have been limited to 5 minute bouts--no more than 10--to go outside before they're called back in.

So, with all of that said, I am so thankful for the air conditioner. I know that may sound silly to some, but I am so thankful. Normally, Husband and I try to keep costs low by using fans to cool the most frequented areas of our home. But this week, the fans just weren't getting the job done.

I know that I can survive without the air conditioner. Actually, in some ways it can be considered a luxury, but it is one simple pleasure that I am truly grateful for.

Stay cool!

  1. I understand--it is hot and crispy here. The paper this morning had this headline: 300 Consecutive Days with No Measurable Precipitation. And we have been so hot, too. We are praying for the Lord's mercy.

  2. Oh my! That is a long time without rain. .. I'll be praying, too.

My grandmother would've said that these extreme weather conditions are signs of the Judgment. . .yes, we need His mercy!

  3. we had a stretch of pretty hot weather too. Today, however, is just perfect summer weather. Not too hot and not too cool. Hope you're getting cooler weather soon as well.

  7. It has been incredibly how here too, Stacie. I don't handle heat well. It feels miserable outside to me. We too have been running fans alongside our air.

  8. Hey Jen!

Yeah, the heat can be tough to deal with. We've been doing lots of ice water, popsicles and ice cream. Hopefully a bit of relief will come soon.

    Take care!
