A Mentoring Session of Sorts

I spent a good chunk of time listening and learning today.

I went to a friend's home; she's a homeschooling mama. One day soon, I will be, too.

We laughed, we chatted, we shared. I listened and listened some more.

I even took notes and borrowed a few materials.

Logistics, schedules, tough days, great days, projects, library, curriculum, computers, math, Bible, reading, science, friends, support groups, not-so supportive groups, discipline, programs, college (yikes!), husbands, children, vacations, physical activity, piano, portfolios, field trips, chickens, gardens, etc.

So grateful for the time, so grateful for her willingness to share. Grateful for our kids who shared their moms today by playing so well together.

Feeling a bit renewed, less overwhelmed, questions answered, simply encouraged.

Thank God for wives and mothers, who are busy at home, loving their Lord, their husbands, and their children, but not too busy to take an afternoon to share. (Titus 2:3-5)

  2. Stacie,

Your day with your friend sounded very enjoyable and comforting.

Yes, being able to find support from women who are Homemakers, mothers, and wives is truly a blessing! :)

P.S. I like your new "avatar." Is that a picture of one of your daughters?

  3. Hi Lady Rose,

It was a very nice day. I'm still talking to my husband about it all in bits and pieces. :)

Thanks for the comment on my photo. That's actually a picture of me, taken last spring.

It's great that you thought it was one of my daughters. Most people think all 3 of my children look mostly like my husband. . .my mom included! LOL
