Baby It's Cold Outside

Today, I am thankful for heat in my home.

I know that may sound trivial, but I do not like being cold. Last night our temps dropped into the 30's . . . shiver, shiver, brrrrr!

I'm thankful for a working furnace, which we try SO hard not to run in order to keep costs down.
I'm thankful for a wood burning stove and dry, seasoned wood to burn.
I'm thankful for Husband who can build a roaring fire in that wood burning stove, in lieu of running the furnace.
I'm thankful for a family who will snuggle and cuddle with me.
I'm thankful for blankets, sweaters, socks, coats, hats, and the like.
I'm thankful for hot running water.
I'm thankful for hot tea, a stove and oven.
I'm thankful today, for there is always something to thank God for--even the simple things!

Praise God for a warm home! May we find ways to bless those this season who are in need of something warm.

  1. Sweet Stacie - Thank you for your kind comments on my blog today! They were so pleasant to wake up to!! :-) I responded to them over there, but wanted to make a special trip over to say thanks :-) Also, I love following your "Thanks" journey this month. And I love the cold weather for the simple reason that it feels so good to be in the warm house and look out and know that you're cozy and warm! :-) I would have to replace tea with Ovaltine on your list though. hehe

  2. Beautiful post- I too am so thankful for warmth. I think and pray often about the homeless this time of year and the elderly who might not have enough money to heat their homes. I hope and pray that God will show us how to help them this winter season.

  5. From Snowflakes to Hotcakes,

Hey there! I'll check back for your responses. I'm glad you "stopped by to visit."

Olvatine you say? Mmmm, I've never tried it before. It's like hot chocolate, right? On these days, just about any thing warm and sweet will do! LOL

  6. The Unsell Family,

Thanks, I'm glad you like the blinkie! There were so many to choose from. . .

I'm so thankful for these blessing. But I realize there are so many who do without.

  7. Our Village is a Little Different,

I'm not good on cold weather either. The older I get, the more my bones seem to ache in the cold weather (and I'm not really that old--if I do say so myself! LOL).

    Stay warm and roasty-toasty!
