Update: Fall Challenge Week 3--Less Clutter, More Peace

I am at the end of the 3rd week on this challenge of peace in my home. This week, we were supposed to focus on clutter, literally and spiritually. Are there areas in my home that are cluttered and are causing stress for me, making things less peaceful? Even more so, what areas in my spiritual life need to be cleared out and cleaned up because they hinder spiritual peace?

Talk about a challenge, huh?

In my home there are lots of little places where clutter can collect really easily. Because I don't want bore you (or scare you!) with pictures of all of them, here's one situation.
Before. . .

My family loves to watch movies. And often the shelf next to our TV can get pretty cluttered with a nice pile of DVDs. This clutter pile wasn't there because the DVDs didn't have a place to go, but it was due to pure laziness (honesty, here folks!). Just walking right by it, ignoring it.

How does this mirror my spiritual life?

When I think about it, it's simple. When I allow the clutter to collect (not asking God first, busy schedules, my to-do lists, not enough sleep, daily life burdens), I can easily become lazy spiritually (not praying like I should, not enough quiet, quality time spent with the Lord, excuses for why I can't stop to pray, read, or listen).
I'm "walking right by" the things the Lord would have me "put away." My life's issues, problems, tasks and duties have a proper place, just like those DVDs on the shelf. They belong to the Lord. Putting them in their proper place requires me to realign my priorities in the will of God. (God, Husband, children, then everything else).
....After

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you."
-Matthew 6:33.

When I yield to His will and to His way, peace prevails.

"You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You."
-Isaiah 26:3

Be blessed, Ladies! Keep pressing on for peace.
